Keeping the Focus on Fun, Not Just Winning
Studies consistently show that the number one reason children play sports is to have fun. The number one reason they quit is that it stops being fun. As parents, we dictate the culture.
If we obsess over championships and elite teams at age 8, we risk burning them out. Celebrate the small victories: a new friend made, a new skill learned, and the joy of running around. If they are smiling, they are winning.
